Pastor Statement

Since August 2007

Bethany Lutheran is a Bible based Church. We are members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and part of the Northeast PA Synod . We put our faith in the Word of God as found in the Holy Scripture. We believe Scripture is the Inspired Word of God and directs us to be welcoming and loving. We welcome all here at Bethany Lutheran and hope, as our 'Mission Statement' says, that those who are in need can find comfort, a Savior, fellowship, and a place to Worship.

“On behalf of Reading-Berks Habitat for Humanity, please accept our appreciation for your generous donation of $1201.85. Your gift will make a great difference in our ability to create homes with and for hard working Habitat partner families. Your generosity will also allow a key to be put in the hand of a homeowner so their dream of owning a home will finally come true. As you know, we depend on the generosity of members of the community like yourself in the pursuit of our shared vision for this great community.

Thanks again for your support of Reading-Berks Habitat for Humanity and your help in bringing about the transformational change we know a decent home can bring to the life of a family. Should you require additional information or have any questions, please call 610-373-3439 or visit www.rbhabitat.org.”

Dear Pastor Reist & the People of God at Bethany,

“Please know, on behalf of the People of God at St. Paul’s, how very much we appreciate the many donations given in 2010 for the St. Paul’s Food pantry by our brothers and sisters in Christ at Bethany.

It is so good to be in partnership with you as, together, we respond to our Lord’s command to “Feed my sheep.” Your regular gifts of food help to provide fro so many people (a special thank you for the Girl Scout’s donation)—in April we served 97 households (303 people). We thank God that we do this together.

May God continue to bless you, Bethany and the ministry you do for Jesus in 2010.”

In Christ’s love,
Rev. Carol B. Kehler, Pastor
